Bucharest, Romania, April 4-6, 2013
IANR VI & 10th GCNN Conference
On April 4-6, 2013, EmCell representatives participated in the IANR VI & 10th GCNN Conference in Bucharest, Romania. Among the invited speakers were leading physicians and scientists from differentcountries including USA, China, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Greece, Romania, Russia.
The main topic of the conference was clinical application of stem cells. The researchers presented the latest data and results of experimental and clinical cell applications in acute cardiovascular accidents, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, spinal cord injuries, cardiac diseases etc. A special section was devoted to autism.
EmCell specialists, together with such leading scientists as Dr. Dario Siniscalco (Second University of Naples, Italy),
Dr. James Jeff Bradstreet (International Child Development Resource Center, Cumming, Georgia, USA) and Dr. Nicola Antonucci (Biomedical Centre for Autism Research and Treatment, Bari, Italy) made oral presentation titled Efficacy of Fetal Stem Cell Transplantation in Autism: Pilot Study. This was the first presentation of the results of the joint study of the scientists and researchers from 3 countries in EmCell history.

International Scientific Conference on Biotechnology in Medicine
On September 19-20, the staff of the Cell Therapy Center EmCell attended the International Scientific Conference Biotechnology in Medicine held in Donetsk, Ukraine. Invited speakers were the leading physicians and scientists from different countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Germany, and Sweden.
The main topic of the event was practical application of various stem cell types in regenerative medicine. Speakers pointed out advantages and disadvantages of allogeneic fibroblasts, autologous keratinocytes, cord blood- and placenta-derived hematopoietic stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells and fetal stem cells. Clinicians and scientists presented recent data and results of stem cell therapy in thermal injuries, ischemia of the lower extremities, diseases affecting cornea and skin, ulcers, cartilage and bone defects, spinal cord injury etc. Separate section was dedicated to cellular technology in cardiovascular diseases.
Experts also dwelt on legal regulation of cellular technology. Professor Torsten Tons from Dresden University of Technology (Germany) spoke about European experience in creating national HSC banks (hematopoietic stem cells) and legislative regulations applying to stem cell-based medical products. He emphasized that adherence to GMP, GCP and GLP standards was obligatory for all stem cell therapy procedures.

Arab Health Congress 2012
EmCell representative participated in the Arab Health Congress – the world’s largest CME (Continuing Medical Education) accredited multi-track medical congress held on January 23-26, 2012 in Dubai, UAE. We attended the 8th Middle East Orthopaedic Conference where we presented our poster on
Fetal Stem Cells in Osteoarthrosis. This Conference offered us a 3 day review and update, covering pressing clinical issues in the management of musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases and congenital disorders. In addition to the lectures, we were given the chance to engage in absorbing interactive case presentations, which presented the latest evidence based studies in the field. We received a unique opportunity to share the most up-to-date strategies and innovative approaches in Orthopaedics.

World Diabetes Congress
EmCell participated in the World Diabetes Congress held on December 4-8, 2011 in Dubai, UAE where we presented our poster on
Fetal Stem Cells in Diabetes Mellitus and Metabolic Problems. As always, organizers and exhibitors demonstrated the best achievements and advances in diabetes management and prevention and offered a wide variety of sessions and satellite symposiums on different aspects of diabetes.

International Educational Conference “Stem Cell: From Theory To Practice”
We had a great honor to be invited and participate in the International Educational Conference “Stem Cell: From Theory To Practice” held on December 3-4, 2011 at Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions of Ajman University of Science and Technology, Ajman, UAE. The event was organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humain Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman.
Our representative made 45-minute oral presentation on Fetal Stem Cells in Diabetes Mellitus and Metabolic Syndrome that was met with interest by our colleagues from different countries and a large number of students invited to participate in the conference and learn about new technologies.
Organizers did a perfect job with arrangements and invited leading professionals from different countries of the world, both scientists and practicing physicians, working on different aspects of stem cell application. Religious aspect was also taken into consideration.

Conference gave the opportunity to both share and learn because there was a whole section dedicated solely to stem cells, and reports came from all over the world.

Fetal Stem Cells was presented and studied by professionals from different countries of Europe and organizing committee, which confirms growing interest to stem cells among neurologists.

EmCell cardiologist participated in the ESC Congress 2011 organized by the European Society of Cardiology held in Paris, France on August 27-31, 2011 and bringing together professionals from all over the world. We presented poster on
Fetal Stem Cells in Combination Treatment of Chronic Heart Failure that attracted attention of the international medical community. Cardiology is one of the new and very successful trends in our clinic.
